"High-ductility concrete," also known as "high-toughness concrete," is officially called Engineered Cementitious Composites in English, often abbreviated as ECC. It is a cement-based composite material composed of cementing agents, high-strength aggregates, synthetic fibers, and functional admixtures. Its ultimate tensile strain is more than 200 times that of ordinary concrete, and its stress-strain behavior closely resembles steel—earning it the nickname "flexible concrete."

UHPC, or Ultra-High Performance Concrete, is a specialized engineering material renowned for its ultra-high strength, toughness, and durability. It holds great potential for applications in defense engineering, marine projects, the nuclear industry, advanced security and protective systems, as well as municipal infrastructure. Testing has demonstrated that its flexural strength is three times greater than that of conventional C50 concrete, while shrinkage is significantly reduced. Moreover, after undergoing 700 freeze-thaw cycles, UHPC remains intact and undamaged.
