Lead-in : On May 17, Hunan Luzhi New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., an alumni enterprise of Changsha University of Technology, sponsored and participated in the university’s 6th “Journey as Brilliant as a Rainbow—Moving Forward with Innovation” alumni fun walk event. Alumni enterprises from various sectors in Changsha, industry partners, and professors from their alma mater—all returning to campus—joined current faculty and students for a vibrant fun walk that not only rekindled alumni friendships and offered a glimpse into engineering laboratories but also painted a dynamic picture of the fusion between “alumni networking” and “a culture of health.”
Alumni Reunion—From “Schoolmates in Youth” to “Backbone of the Industry”
At the start of the event, alumni gathered at the Yuntang Campus Stadium of Changsha University of Science and Technology. They took a group photo at the opening ceremony. Then, Ye Ze, former vice president and vice president of the Alumni Association, presented honorary certificates to the three supporting organizations. Among them, Zhou Yingjie, deputy general manager of the company and general manager of the Maintenance and Reinforcement Division, accepted the sponsorship certificate on behalf of the company’s team.

At the opening ceremony of the health walk event on Yuntang Campus, Vice President Liu Chaohui delivered a speech, warmly welcoming the alumni who had joined the event. He emphasized three key points: First, fully leverage the bridging role of the alumni association to unite alumni strength and support the university’s development in industry-academia-research-application integration and the nation’s economic construction; second, highlight the alumni association’s value-creating and radiating function, showcasing the distinctive qualities of Changli graduates—“bright character, strong practical skills, innovative spirit, and a sense of responsibility”; and third, strengthen the alumni association’s role in promoting development by enhancing communication and collaboration among alumni organizations and between individual alumni, thus achieving common growth and prosperity.
Healthy Step in Step—“Health and Inspiration” Along Xuefu Road
After the opening ceremony, each alumni team, led by a flag bearer, set off on a health walk along the Yuntang Campus of Changsha University of Science and Technology, following a pre-determined route. Along the way, six check-in points titled “A Journey as Brilliant as a Rainbow—Moving Forward to the New” were strategically placed. These checkpoints provided ample opportunities for each alumnus to pause briefly, engage in conversation, and seamlessly integrate industry networking into the natural setting and the alumni community itself.
Cross-border Conversation ：
Along the way, Wang Xianghong, Chairman of Hunan Luzhi, and Zhou Yingjie, Deputy General Manager of the company, had an open and candid conversation with school leaders and alumni from various backgrounds about industry development trends, product and technological innovation, and corporate culture exchange.
Hardcore Exploration—“Technological Empathy” in the Engineering Lab
After the health-walking event, the Lu Zhi alumni group visited the Dongting Lake Key Laboratory at Changsha University of Science and Technology, focusing on the cutting edge of the industry.
The laboratory demonstrated an “AI-driven water resources monitoring and prediction system” that precisely assesses changes in the water resource environment within Hunan Province by monitoring hydrological data related to extreme environmental conditions, enabling early warnings of potential risks and facilitating timely and effective protective measures. Alumni had the opportunity to experience firsthand the “smart water resources monitoring platform” and gained insights into the development journey of the key laboratory at Dongting Lake as well as the emerging new materials required by the industry.
Alumni power is productive power.
A health walk has unveiled a new paradigm of deep integration among industry, academia, and research. Leveraging alumni as the connecting thread, Hunan Luzhi has forged links among technological breakthroughs, resource sharing, and humanistic care, ensuring that the “Changli Gene” continues to empower China’s intelligent manufacturing.
